What were some of the experiences from the Blizzard?

Many stories erupted from the horrible incident. Many also ended with tragedy.
One teacher, Lois Royce, found herself trapped in a schoolhouse with three of her
students. They quickly ran out of heat so she attempted to lead the children to her
boarding house which was only 86 yards away. In the high winds and heavy snowfall
they became lost, the children could not sustain themselves in the freezing weather
and froze to death. The teacher however, was found and was mostly unharmed except
for her frostbitten feet which had to be amputated.
